Some people sitting around a table. From the ceiling hangs a lamp
, central to the table, which in turn is central to the room.
On the table is placed a water jugs, ceramic, a bit 'elaborated: it has a handle, the decorations, a nozzle for the smooth passage of the liquid to the glasses ...
If people sat around the table were to describe the pitcher, or better still observe carefully how to make a drawing, each one would notice things, and some are not. They would
descriptions or drawings as there are different points of view, that the observers who see the handle and the spout, just one of those two, who perhaps none.
Or the shadows and drawings 'would fall' in a different way.
yet all in the same place and same time are describing the same object.
The perception is certainly subjective.
A parable tells of a group of blind from birth who wanted to know what an elephant. One touched his head and said it was like a jar, another the trunk and said it was like a snake, another the tusks and said it was like the coulter of a plow, another the back and said it was like a barn, the other leg and said it was like a column.
